Women objectification

This is not the most erotic theme to start this blog with, but there are two main reasons it is probably the best post despite that.

The first of those reasons is that I was recently involved in a discussion about the subject, so I have a lot of different ideas about the topic in my mind.

The second is that I hope to have some women between my readers and I think that starting by exposing my opinion on this topic will probably help understand a lot of the future texts I will publish here. This post is for them, not for the guys who will certainly hover around.

So, ladies and lads, let’s be clear about one thing: Yes, our society in general, and a lot of men specifically see women as if they were property or objects for their pleasure and entertainment. Let’s look around for a bit:

  • the advertisement wants to sell shaving razors for men, the add shows an almost naked women caressing the just shaved dude.
  • to sell cars the camera focus 90% of the time in the deep cleavage of the lady driving the car – or if the car is really low quality in the women in bikini over the engine.
  • to sell shower gel for men, the add shows how women would do anything because of it
  • to sell deodorant for men, the important thing is the effect it have in the women around the protected guy.
  • … the list goes on and on and on for ever.

But, let me ask for the Oscar Wilde help on this one:

Everything in the world is about sex except sex. Sex is about power

No, really. A man who doesn’t hope to get laid stays in the couch all day or just gives up and starts living in the streets.

There are a very small amount of men who don’t belong to one of the next two groups, but it is small:

  • The first group are the obnoxious pigs who can’t see a cute women in a skirt without dropping their jaws.
  • The second group is populated by the trained pigs. They also like to see women in skirts, but they try to be more discrete when they look.

Now… this still doesn’t mean that all the men in the world see the women around them as play toys, as sex dolls to use or abuse at they will.

There are also those among us who see women, instead, as play partners, as players with whom we like to share the games.

Personally it’s hard for me keep my eyes away from women. And from women using shorts or skirts even more. But that doesn’t mean that if I thought I would get away with it I would try to do anything to them against their will.

So, you know that saying that men think about sex every seven seconds? Well, it’s probably not true – Acording to Terri Fisher and her team, the max registered is actually once every 2 minutes – more precisely 388 times a day. But that still leaves enough times to think about what type of activities we would like to perform with some of those women who surround us all the time – but there is nothing more objectificant in those thoughts than in those we have about the football player with whom we play twice a week or the other computer geeks we meet in the conferences or the sales person who is selling the TV we want to buy.

Now, even if you insist that this is just bullshit and excuses, let me put this in a different way – you know what is the difference between men who want to get women to bed and those of us who want to catch (or being catched) other men? The main difference is that gay men go to their potential partners in crime and tell them “Dude, I like the way you look – let get dirty?” and the other will tell him yes or no and they both go on – together or each on their own way.

Now, tell me ladies, what would happen if I got to the big majority of you and asked you “Let’s have sex?” – ohh, you awful guy. Men are all pigs – yes, we are, I already assumed that in the beginning. Move on. If you don’t dirty pigs, you better start thinking about dating other women – and even then I’m not sure you’ll get that better, because a lot of the lesbian and bisexual women I know are as sexually depraved as men – what I mean is, they like it and don’t pretend they don’t.

Let’s just be clear about one thing again: I don’t think it is ok to treat women as if they were object, unless they are really into that. I would love to live in a world where women would dress as much or as little as they felt like, because they knew that nothing would happen to them because of that, nobody would judge them based on how they dress.

And I would also love to live in a world, in a time, where asking a girl if she wanted to have sex would be a sensible question to ask, because No would be a answer as good as any other. Or where a girl who would like to have sex with a guy would feel at easy to get to him and ask if he is interested.
